Weather good enough to take the boat out and dive. Tried our new Sea & Sea strobe and all worked well. Took a few new self portraits of us diving and models with kina and seastars. Water is now 14-15 degC.July 9th, we had the ultimate day out with Orca - lots of them - in Kawau Bay. It was just amazing having so many to watch as they hunted for rays.
The following week southern right whales were spotted in Kawau Bay so will be looking for their appearance in Omaha Bay soon. Saw something breaching this morning (July 24th) so could be a southern right or a humpback, but too far away to tell. Visited Tiritiri Matangi Island travelling there on the 360 Discovery ferry. A beautiful day, heaps of birds around and lots of bird music. This is a special place to see many of NZ's endangered birdlife. Tiri home page
