Weather warming up, kowhai trees flowering, tui by the dozen just everywhere. Yes, it is lovely spring weather. Lucky to time the blue sky days with a couple of days camping at Tawharanui Regional Park. Watched a morepork feeding, two nights in a row, saw a pukeko run off with a young thrush in its mouth, lots of frogs croaking, the occasional kiwi calling, songs of the bellbird and more musical notes of the saddlebacks. Lots more birds seen too. Loved the family of paradise ducks.
Besides the birds, we cycled to Tokatu Point via the South Coast Track, walked the beach several times, wandered through the Ecology Track and enjoyed our little caravan. Tiger, our cat, also had a little holiday at Bushpark Cattery in Matakana.
