Supervised a Forest & Bird group visit to Little Barrier Island, a wildlife sanctuary not far from Leigh. Birdlife included kokako, stitchbirds, tomtits, saddlebacks, kaka and kakariki. Also saw tuatara. www.doc.govt.nz. Several visits to Port Waikato included a walk alongside the river to the Heads and back along Sunset Beach.Seaspray magazine published our article and photographs on the Valdes Peninsula in Argentina, where we saw sea lions, elephant seals, orca, Magellanic penguins, Commerson’s dolphins and southern right whales.
